Introduce yourself! Tell us about you!
Tera: My name is Tera Lyn (Zolman) Andrews. I am ‘over 40’. Okay, okay, 45. I am married to a beautiful human being named Timothy Scott Andrews. (Using full names makes us all closer, right?) I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education but have only used that degree to homeschool my 5 kids who are the best things I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. This crazy, cool life I live is only possible because I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and He is my everything.
Maddie: My name is Madisen Joy (Andrews) Sherman. I have a personal relationship with Jesus and treasure that more than anything else in my life. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Braden Lee. He balances me out so well. As a little girl, I always said I wanted to marry someone exactly like my dad (because, I too think my dad is a beautiful human being) and I have to say: Braden is that exactly. I love my family, music, sports, pinterest and crafting.
What are some of your favorite things to do?
Maddie: I love being with my family. I have come to realize how short life is and have learned to appreciate every minute I have with them. I LOVE laughing. Braden loves making me laugh and I love that, too. Seriously, he can get me laughing so hard I’m crying and rolling around on the ground like a crazy person. Believe me, it’s ugly. I love music and have since I was a baby. I am so thankful to have a mom that loves music as much as I do and has helped teach me so that I can enjoy it and use it by singing, playing the piano, violin and cello.
Tera: I love my home. Not just the four walls I live in, although I do love them, but the living that is encompassed there. I love my man and making a haven he wants to come home to. And I love the kids that fill my home with noise and laughter and tears and conflict and resolution and mistakes and fixes and learning and loving and the processes of trying to live a life for Christ. I love teaching. My kids – and other’s kids too. Fostering discovery and understanding is an absolute thrill for me. I also love music to the very depths of my soul, so naturally I enjoy doing anything that involves this beautiful gift from God.
Name a favorite of each: food, drink, color.
Tera: I love pizza. Anytime, anywhere. And my mom’s cooking. It rivals any home-cooking in the country. No exaggeration.
I love drinking pop but in my attempt to be healthier I have learned to love Kevita, a sparkling probiotic drink that is doing a fine job as an alternative.
My favorite color is any shade of red but aren’t they all just lovely in their own right?
Maddie: To be honest, I just love food. It’s really hard to pick a favorite. I love pizza, pastas, grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, and especially my grandma’s cooking.
I try to avoid sugar drinks, so I’m all about healthy alternatives. My favorites include kombucha, vegetable juice and water!
My favorite color is pink. But I also like blues, greens and purples.
What is your favorite place to be?
Maddie: I love just being home. I also love being anywhere my family is. And as you’ll probably find out about me, I l-o-v-e the beach, so naturally I have to add this to my list of favorite places to be!
Tera: You may have guessed it by now but my favorite place to be is home with all my peeps or even by myself drinking in the silence. A very close rival to that is the beach where my “only worry in the world is the tide gonna reach my chair.”
Describe your idea of a perfect day.
Tera: I wake up slowly at 8:23am. I have a nice big breakfast that includes syrup on something. I then do my quiet time while listening to my family do their thing. The rest of the day is filled with a little singing, a little shopping or a little game-playing (inside at the table or outside and competitive) a nice vigorous walk outdoors with the fam and then a date with my honey.
Maddie: I would get to sleep in, eat a big breakfast, pack a picnic, then sit on a warm, sandy beach somewhere with Braden and my family for the rest of the day. I would finish the day with a big ice cream cone.
Explain a personal goal that you have set for yourself.
Maddie: To become more like Christ and to become an experienced blogger.
Tera: To be more like Christ every day.
